The garden in July

Continuously deadhead the roses and check for pest infestations.

Attach perennials, weed and loosen soil.

Rhododendrons: control bud blast by removing and destroying infected flower buds promptly, or by fortnightly sprays.

It is time to trim the hedges and to keep uncontrolled growth from taking over.
Summer pruning of young fruit trees.

Lawn – in summer set the mower one notch higher and don’t mow the lawn during great heat, as it could burn. Regularly water the lawn during dry spells, best during the evening hours.

An ideal time to level paths and patios or to build a shady seating area in the garden.

Garden tip from Kurt:

Mow your lawn frequently, but not to short (ideally cut 1/3 of the blade)
